Just in time for the Fall. Get your hot cup of Joe, a pumpkin spice latte or chai tea and enjoy this great book of poetry by Mo-Psy-Ris!!
These poems were inspired by the letter written by William Lynch, a British slave owner in the West Indies. The legend goes that Willie Lynch gave a speech on the bank of the James River in the colony of Virginia in 1712 to slave holders in the United States inform them to improve their slave holding practices by helping them to implement creative and innovative ways to maintain control of the Negro.
He promoted a culture of nonresistance from revolting slaves by breaking them down physically, intellectually, emotionally, spiritually and socially.
These same methods are still used today in our society, which is why the spirit of Willie Lynch lives on.
